Prior to Shape Up The Nation, Rajiv founded Shape Up RI, a non–profit community wellness program. Shape Up RI works by engaging Rhode Islanders, building a strong sense of community spirit, and harnessing the power of teamwork to create healthy habits.

For his work in the state, Kumar was awarded the 2007 Community Outreach and Education Award from Quality Partners of Rhode Island. He was named by the American Heart Association and Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Rhode Island as a 2007 Community Hero. In July 2008, he was named by the Providence Business News as one of “40 Under Forty” in the next generation of business community leaders.

Rajiv is also co–founder of Adopt A Doctor, a non-profit organization providing financial support for underpaid doctors saving lives in Africa. Kumar is the recipient of over $500,000 in foundation grants and corporate sponsorships for his public health efforts. He received the Hope is a Vaccine Award from the Global Alliance to Immunize Against AIDS Vaccine Foundation for his work to support doctors and HIV/AIDS patients in Mali, West Africa. He was featured in Yankee Magazine in a special report on “Angels Among Us.”

Rajiv holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Economics from Brown University. He enjoys rock climbing and cycling in his free time, and lives in Providence, Rhode Island.

Prior to founding Shape Up The Nation, Brad served as a senior analyst at the Brown University Investment Office, where he helped research and develop their portfolio strategy.

Brad serves as a mentor to budding Rhode Island entrepreneurs through Betaspring.

Brad received his B.A. in business economics from Brown University, and has passed all three levels of the CFA exam. Around the office, Brad is most often seen doodling on the whiteboards. He lives in Providence, Rhode Island where he trains for road races and triathlons.
